Our City of Literature

Serenity Cafe

Today we met with Emma from Comas at Serenity cafe to discuss ideas for literary events that could be held in the cafe. Serenity is a great hidden away cafe down Crichton's Close which also acts as an enterprise to help those going through recovery. They hold lots of workshops and events to help increase the skills and confidence of people going through recovery, as well as providing a safe haven if needed.

Serenity has already hosted a successful craft and photography workshop, the results of which can be seen throughout the cafe. This picture, which takes pride of place under the counter, was created by volunteer Steven and is made entirely out of matchsticks!

Serenity also have a great space to hire for events, as well as tea, coffee and lunches. If you fancy popping in for a fish finger sandwich and a blether, you can find Serenity at The Tun, 8 Jacksons Entry, or visit their website.
