Eglinton Castle

I had a lovely wander around Eglinton Country Park today.

This was a place I was taken to lots as a child and apparently was known to some locals as the “pie factory” due to the factory that used to be located in the old stable block.

I have fond memories of playing at the ruins of Eglinton Castle and have, even as an adult, abseiled down the only fully remaining tower of the castle some years ago.

Besides the castle ruins, there are three different walking routes, a loch, standing stones and lots more to see and explore.

There is also a great adventure playground for children and a cafe and visitor centre although this is currently closed.

If you haven't already been and are in the area, you should definitely take a visit!
