There were more interesting sights in Marrickville - a Greek cafe up a flight of steps in a side street, a faded souvenir shop, two rundown buildings soon to be replaced by a six-storey boarding house. And I missed the besuited woman on a snazzy scooter at the lights.

Instead it’s the entry to a flat over a Vietnamese butchery.
