THE LAST HURRAH

The masses of purple CLEVELAND SAGE
(SALVIA clevelendii) are blooming along the mountain sides. This only happens when we have rain in the Winter or early Spring.
Last year we had neither; but this year
it rained just enough to encourage the
wild blooming plants. This SAGE is at its
peak, but will be just a fond memory in a week or so.

I included a cousin of this native SAGE
in my front garden. It’s called
“Winnifred Gillman” & has blue flowers. It is smaller & has a longer blooming period.

Those clouds may bring us some rain tomorrow night. One can always hope….
