What …. No Cathedral !??

Looked like a good day to take a trip. Planned to go to Ringwood, a few miles away. On the bus, change of plan, we continued on to Salisbury 1h30m. Pleasant journey, through lovely and peaceful countryside, the time goes quickly.
Luckily the bus wasn’t full.

Walked round. Found a nice pub on the market square. Them searched for coffee. The place we liked has closed down. So ended having a good flat white at Fisherton Mill (a small pretty courtyard with a few shops, and a gallery, cafè/restaurant). The stunning shop blipped was opposite. Sacrilege though not to post one of my pix of the Cathedral.

Someone then mentioned a backstreet café, The Yard, not far away. Went to check it for another time, then explored the (residential) area and ended up in Queen Elizabeth Gardens on the banks of the River Avon. A nice chap advised us to follow the river to Harnham and return via a road which would then take us back to the Cathedral. 40mn walk. We stopped off on the way to check out Salisbury tennis club.

Then bus back. A fab day out, the first since Covid (except for our lunch in London).
