April 21

The mayflower is the provincial flower for Nova Scotia. As a child I used to pick them, there were always lots growing in the woods near where I grew up. I have not seen any for several years, although last winter I did see where some would be growing along one of the trails. This little patch is growing on a client's property. I'm not sure how it got there, perhaps the birds planted it for me. I noticed the leaves a couple of years ago and have been nurturing them ever since. I was rewarded this year with some blooms.
