Lockdown London

Tomorrow is the funeral of Baroness Thatcher. The area around my office is preparing for lockdown. There are huge metal archways installed around the Paternoster Square area, presumably to act as security access. There are blast proof concrete barricades and miles and miles of crowd barriers that normally only come out for the marathon and The Lord Mayor's Parade.

This picture is of one of dozen of outside broadcast wagons vying for the best position at the cathedral.

Today was an ordinary day in the office but there is definitely a mounting sense of something about to happen. Surely it is more than just the thought of next week's business unit review?

I think EC1 will be a very difficult place to be tomorrow so I am giving it a miss. The sight of last night's atrocities in Boston has made the threat of trouble in London see all the more possible. Please can everyone behave in a low key way tomorrow..... Please?
