Asparaberries; or should that be Strawagus?

The strawberry farm shop at Sharrington is open but not for strawberries yet; for their early asparagus.  The lady on the stand told me that the strawberries should be available in around four weeks, depending on the weather in the meantime.  I went up this morning to collect some asparagus for tonight's meal; lovely to think that in 'food miles' terms it will only have travelled about three to get to my kitchen.
