Walkway

Ice blue sky, deceptive; freezing cold in the wind again. I was heading along the Water of Leith to the tenpin because I’d finally scheduled a lesson, my first since I lifted a bowling ball forty years ago. Well as they say, it’s never too late. Or maybe it is if that lesson was anything to go by! I’ve been shown how to hold the ball properly and how to release it properly but what I’ve really got to focus on is the approach which goes something like short, short, long, skip, long. Talk about getting back to basics. Anyway, two weeks of practice to master the skip and I might be ready for lesson two.
