Chancel School, Morpeth

Spent a lovely day in Morpeth today. We got tickets for Morpeth Castle’s rare open day. It was quite a steep hike to the castle but well worth it. We decided to have lunch in town and on the way back to our car, we stopped at The Office for refreshments.

The route home took us via a road we’d passed many times wondering where it led. It led to the village of Netherwhitton - it was a very pretty winding road and the village is one we will explore on another visit.

We ended up in our favourite watering hole, The Gate in Forestburn where we chatted to a mother and son from down south!
