Sea of blue

If I thought the bluebells two days ago were spectacular, this was a whole new level of amazement. Imagine that little sea reduced to a pond by the scale of today's vistas. Blue whales could be swimming under these waters. 

Often we don't travel to the places just on our doorsteps. This was only the second time I had visited these woods in five years of living here. I always make excuses, always have too much to do. Sometimes, though, those excuses are made to feel pretty flimsy.
