Imperial Hotel

Three days of legal two-up for the Anzac Day long weekend. I checked out the Lord Raglan where K’s father and his WWII comrades used to gather, but it was closed, so I popped in to the fabulously camp Imperial for the two-up.

In this morning’s Herald historian Bill Gammage, author of The Broken Years: Australian Soldiers in the Great War (1974), said he hoped the day would come when the Anzac Day march was down to the last survivor. It would be a great day, he said, because it would mean we’d been at peace for a long time.
