Mr Speaker

Thought I might do an election-ey blip today, but I'd forgotten just how underwhelming and unphotogenic the traipse to the local gym-hall can be.

Council bit is weird - single transferrable vote? What a pants-poor name for a system that feels anything but singular (pick as many or as few candidates as you wish and number them in order of your preference). I suppose with "transferrable" they have a point though - as all our candidates do seem completely intechangeable.

Anyway, here's a pic of a Speaker which pumps more than hot air.

On a very silly political tip: Some of you may have seen this wild dude before, but if not, I urge you to czech him oot. Sadly hes not standing in our council ward :)
