Fledging

Baby owls just fledging in their nest in the crook of a sugaro cactus. A third baby later stood up behind them but he was in need of a hairbrush because his feathers were all messy. These fellows are probably awaiting return of their mother with another snack.

This was a completely lucky shot because it was late in the day and I was in a pickle for a blip. I was driving down the road and saw a lady with a camera on a monopod. So I made a big U-turn in the highway and went back. She then pointed out these kids.
