growth

today was a beautiful day. i had a great long conversation with the 70 year old swedish watchmaker who fixed my watch - we talked about the marathon, of course, but also about hope, optimism, and silver linings. we even talked about javelin, and his dismay at the fact that his swedes will never be as strong as the rival fins. after i left, i saw kids on april vacation running up and down the streets, enjoying the weather and completely without fear. i hope you all take a few seconds to see all the good around you, because today was a beautiful day.
