Cwm Idwal

A place I know well after bringing several year 6 trips to the YHA Idwal Cottage. As we pulled up , S ,the manager , was outside so once I’d reminded her who I was :) we had a lovely chat.
We walked up to the lake (Cwm) which is a hanging lake, often visited by Darwin. I never tire of the surprise of seeing it after the climb. Went all the way round , admiring the towering Glyderau range.
Then back down and round lake Ogwen, in total about 8 miles. The last bit was very hard going due to the boggy conditions. My shins feel jarred!
