Wayleaves

Had an interesting morning  at Stover Country Park on a guided walk led by the Senior Ranger.    It was organised by the Curious Club, a friendly little society of nosey Parkers  we belong to. We carried on walking in the afternoon- it was a glorious day. Jacqui Naturenotes tells me that the land beneath the pylons is a wayleave, an agreement that allows the energy company access at will. It also means that the land is left to nature in many places. The China clay heaps give the area an alpine look - EXTRA.
Bird of the Day - sand martins near the River Teign. A first for the year.
