Chaffinch

Today we had lovely sunshine, but it was still pretty cold outside.  There was a lot of birdsong in the woods, and a few more birds allowed us to see them. This is one of two chaffinches that appeared to be hanging out together - but of course not near enough for the camera. The beech buds in this view haven't swollen yet, but there are some other beeches where they've actually started to open and - see my extra.
