Great Blue Heron

I saw my first Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias) of the season resting near the water’s edge. These shy birds tend to be a challenge for me to photograph because they usually stay well beyond the normal reach of my camera lens. I often struggle to achieve a sharp image when I encounter one.
