A Grand Day out in the Forest

Today we visited Exbury Gardens in the New Forest. They are  part of the Rothschild family estate, and are open to the public from March to November, though at their best in spring and autumn. They contain  an amazing collection of Rhododendrons, Camellias, Acers and mature specimen  trees.
There is also a wonderful little  steam railway on which we took a ride. Mariloo, one the engines, is in extras, with her driver taking a well deserved break.
Later we went out for a delicious dinner at the Plough Inn, Itchen Abbas near Winchester to complete our  most enjoyable and memorable wedding anniversary celebrations. ( 32 years since our wedding)
