Whales, whales and more whales!

We changed our routine today and put up the weekend’s open home signs this morning.  In the afternoon we travelled into the central city to view all the whales’ tails in one place, which was rather special.  I was able to photograph all the ones I hadn’t managed to see before, except for about six that had already been sold and moved to their new homes.  There was a competition for children, which created a lot of excitement, and the whales will be auctioned on Monday. We returned home for a quick, early supper, then travelled to the Pah Homestead in Hillsborough for a jazz concert.  The band were very good, the singer not quite as good.  It was an enjoyable concert, though, and lovely to get out and listen to music again.

The blip and the extras show quite a number of the whales’ tails that I haven’t posted before. That’s it for the whales’ tails now!

There are 8,242 new community cases today, and the seven-day rolling average is 7,540, compared to 8,166 last Friday. The number of people in hospital is 480, including 15 in ICU. Another 14 deaths have been reported, bringing the total number of deaths to 737 and the seven-day rolling average of reported deaths to 13.
