Paper Roses

My Mothering Sunday flowers are now officially Past It. The rose leaves are all dropping and the blooms are paper-dry.
But this is not the end, I shall keep them until the flowers disintegrate and the petals fall off as they still have colour and give immense pleasure.

I took this in the morning as Swiss friends, en route home from their holiday in Shetland, were calling in later. After a coffee and natter we met two other couples from our old church family for a lovely catch-up over dinner at the Steading. They are now at their airport hotel preparing for an early flight tomorrow.
