Brian Jones, Colonial ghosts, and the Seawell.

Brian is a fantastic glass maker. He is holding a glass representation of a Corona virus. The crosses on the wall are part of an exhibition that highlights how the cultures of Africa have been subsumed by Christianity. If you zoom in you can see the crosses are made from glass sculptures.Pascale Marthine Tayou is the artist. He was born in Nknongsamba, Cameroon in 1966. He now lives and works in Ghent, Belgium and Yaoundé, Cameroon.
Through Colonial Ghost, Pascale aims to invite the viewer to consider connections between colonization and the growth of Christianity in African countries. The glass artist was James Maskray. There were videos showing how each figure was made. All very interesting. The ship is a dive support vessel called the Seawell. It is a specialist craft and has done some pioneering work in the North Sea oil fields. It has a helipad.
