The Wild Garlic Woods

My daughter very kindly took me to a bluebell wood a few miles from the village where I knew the wild garlic grew in abundance.  We picked some young leaves, so I shall be making wild garlic and walnut pesto tomorrow.  Still masses of bluebells but they are just going over. There were lots of Early Purple orchids too - see the extra; the other extra is a broken branch with a black fungus.  I looked it up on the internet when I got home.  They are called King Alfred's Buns.  Apparently rock hard-liked a burnt cake, and inedible.
