Jumping in the Bluebells

Basil was pleased to have a run and meet other canine friends in the woods backing on to Loughborough University. 'Development' is creeping ever closer with the university's Science and Technology Park and a commercial business park planned on the other side of Snell's Nook Lane.

This wood is ancient, a remnant of a deer park from long ago. More dead trees this morning, including a recently fallen oak with fresh leaves. We think that the soil around its roots loosened because of the dry weather we've had for the last 2-3 years, and there's no rain in the forecast.

I'm pleased that Basil is still able to jump. Other photos taken this morning show that he is really beginning to age. Extras are of the bluebells and one in false colour infrared.

I had taken one photo thinking the inter-relationships between tree trunks and branches would come out well in infrared. They didn't. And I'm not sure about the conversion action I've been using. I don't think the colours are right.
