‘Still Waiting’

The works on Inverleith Pond in March - not really completed until the beginning of last month -  have delayed the arrival of the next generation of wildlife on the pond this year. However, like the coots, (featured in yesterday’s blip), the swans - Napoleon and Josephine - have built a nest and are now waiting!

They also have what looks like three eggs waiting to hatch (see extra - taken yesterday).

But meanwhile, the long wait continues. On 9th May last year, the proud parents were leading 4 newborn cygnets into the water for the first time, but I do wonder if they’ll make it by then this year!
