Favourites from a fantastic day in Alderney!!

We took a walk around the back streets of the town this morning. Had lunch at a little cafe then……we went on a Puffin and Gannet trip. It was a bit foggy but that lifted and it was blue sky, and the sea was calm. 10 passengers on the little boat, but we had to get to the boat by harbour taxi which was a rib! I was worried about getting on and off but it was fine! The guy from the Wildlife Trust was brilliant and very knowledgeable. We saw lots of Puffins, but because of the motion of the boat not all came out! We then went to Gannet rock which I blipped yesterday from the top of the cliff. This time we were on the sea right next to it. The smell close to the rock was quite strong as there is so much guano (bird poo!) It’s so sad to see loads of fishing lines and nets on the rocks too. There are an estimated 17,000 Gannets between the 2 rocks. We saw Fulmars and Guillemots too but I didn’t get a photo. We ended the day sitting by a lovely beach on a bench reading but it got chilly so we had our picnic in the car. Now relaxing in our lovely room! A wonderful day! More in extras!!
