Community building project..

I am astonished how many birds are involved in this Jackdaws nest... at one time I have seen 6 birds bringing in sticks, leaves and what looks like sheep wool or wood shavings. However, I have also observed that there is a thief.. one of them comes around and jumps into the chimney and leaves with a mouthful of sticks.. ah well.. two steps forward one back I guess!! Having spent some time watching them I am really glad it is not my chimney they are inhabiting.. half the woodland floor has gone in there in the last hour!!!

Its a really windy and wild day today when they are not landing and building they are whirling in the sky.. they must consume huge energy.
