A Day In The Life

High Drama

They are back!! We saw the male ruby-throated hummingbird late yesterday afternoon, and then this morning the female. Three feeders are up around the yard, all containing freshly made nectar for our tiny visitors to slurp up and enjoy • It was chilly last night in the upper 30s with frost advisories in place for tonight and tomorrow night. After that, hopefully, we should be in the clear. It was chilly sitting outside taking photos of the hummers, even with a jacket on! • The male usually keeps others away when he’s eating so this capture amazes me. The female flew in, landed, and dined on the other side of the feeder despite his glares. I was so proud of her, she remained until satisfied, then quietly left. He lingered a bit before chasing after her • Saturday is named after the Roman God, Saturn • Peace & Love
