Alligator Blue Spring State Park, Florida

We spent the day hiking and biking in two state parks and a wildlife sanctuary.

The semi-tropical scenery is so exotic for us to take in.

The bike ride to Blue Spring State Park was a quest to see Manatees.

Unfortunately they have departed for the season.

Nevertheless, the crystal clear river flowing from the Blue Spring "boil" allowed us to see all manner of wading birds, fish, turtles and an alligator that yawned spectacularly for us.

Fortunately the alligator was across the river from us, as I would estimate it's length conservatively at 10 feet.

Nothing says "Florida" like a 10 foot long American Alligator with its mouth wide open.
