Wisteria and the Madonie

The view from our apartment. Small gardens and family farms are interspersed throughout the town and countryside. The wisteria is part of a little garden across the street tended by the propoprietors of our BandB apartment. A hill in the near distance (but hidden by the tree foliage) is an outcropping of calcite and is called “Tufo Gypsy”, probably because of calcareous gypsum, not the people. More family visiting. Mike and my mini cousin Rosalia hit it off…neither can understand the other…she talks incessantly in Sicilian and he chooses his Italian words carefully and let’s say is not a chatterer. Amazing that we all laugh so very much….and solo in italiano! It’s May 3 and we are exactly halfway through our Italian trip….and…HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY LOVELY ONE! Xoxoxox
