Nautical flower display

We stayed overnight at the birthday  meal hotel ( The Old Mill inn at Brodie) and after a delicious breakfast headed back for another visit to Findhorn and this time walked along the front shore where the yachts are all moored.

I liked the nautical theme in the floral display we passed on our way to the Captain’s Table where we enjoyed a coffee in the sunshine looking over to the Culbin Sands.

The extra shows this view with the forest now planted - The Culbin Forest featured on the BBC Landward program last weekend where they described how a fierce sandstorm over 300 years ago buried all the farms and houses as a result of them using the marram grass for the roofs allowing the sand to shift. Lots of local fokelore about this disaster involves  witches etc.

We called in to see two of the friends we had been with last night including the birthday boy before heading back down the A9 to home - altogether a fabulous weekend.
