Track Chair.

A relic of the Great Eastern Railway... This track chair dates back to at least the 1920s but probably much older than that. perhaps thrown aside when the track was closed and taken up in 1967. 

Amazing to think that this 20lb piece of iron is just one of many hundreds of thousands that must have been cast to build the railway. Each sleeper had two of these.

This one, badly corroded and damaged was found near to the old Bartlow Station. Perhaps thrown aside because it was broken...
