Kaleidoscope

Day of several parts….set of 1-2-1 meetings in person, interspersed with frenzied data analysis of the initial REF outcomes (something that will intensify across the week as we get comparative data in and craft the messages until the embargo is lifted). Did an annual review in the afternoon with very longstanding colleague, then dashed down to the launch of this new Nursing Tartan. Chat and canapés and a chance to celebrate something, then back for 4th in the series of lectures and linked dinner where, surprisingly, I ended up in a conversation about parenting that ended up being somewhat more intense than usual at these sort of events.
Thinking about parenting, I didn’t manage to talk to Mt today on his birthday but all the horse chestnut candles that are out across the town at the moment are reminding me of that time 37 years ago…..how on Earth can it be so long ago?!
