Fort Albert

Our first full day on the island and I am still not feeling too good but a walk this morning started to make me feel better. We had lunch reservations at Off The Rails in Yarmouth at 12:30 and so left before 11:30 thinking we had plenty of time.  We decided to try a coastal path from Colwell Bay to Yarmouth and it was much harder going than we imagined even though it was only just over 3 miles (very up and down though).  It started off along the beach, which was lovely, and the view of Fort Albert - now a residential complex - was pretty impressive.

Several of the paths on the map did not seem to exist and many of the others were sodden - almost to the point of being mud baths - along the way. Which, when dressed for a nice lunch, is perhaps not the best.

We ended up being about ten minutes late for the restaurant.  The last time we were here the place was packed but, because it’s still early in the season, it was relatively quiet. I started to feel better after eating the first food in over a day (the delicious chicken roast) and was washed down by a milkshake which turned out to be quite good for my stomach.
