Day of the Chamois and the Marmots

One of my favourite walks today, from Pont de Nant on the way to the Col des Esserts. We must have seen at least 50 chamois, these were my favourites, and 10 scruffy marmots (2 in extras). We meditated in the beauty and the silence of this great valley which is full of walkers in the summer, whereas we saw only 2 other people all day! I had to put in another extra of a little waterfall that only occurs during snowmelt, with the  Grand Muveran in the background. Everything is so much more beautiful with the snow melting and drawing out the structure of the rocks at the moment. Alpine flowers are popping out all over the place ( Bear’s Ear Primula in extra). What a great day!

Huge thanks for all the presents for the blue butterfly yesterday too.
