Edinburgh to St Andrews

Fiona and I cycled to St Andrews today. It's day one of a three day trip to Aberdeen.

The weather was lovely today but for one thing - the wind. For most of the journey it was behind us, but every now and again we'd be hit by a gust from behind. We also arrived at the Forth Road Bridge to find the route closed for cyclists. Fortunately the bridge staff offered to shuttle us across in one of their trucks.

The cycle was lovely, although there are a few too many boy racers for my liking. Also one lady who thought it was fine to overtake with a truck coming the other way. She missed the truck by a whisker. I spotted her a few miles down the road taking her children out of the car.

Tomorrow we have a slightly shorter day to Montrose, and the wind is meant to be dropping.
