owlet

When Sarah was running today, she noticed an owlet sitting on a dyke. When she came back down the hill, it had moved to the base of a nearby tree. She looked up what to do if you find a tawny owlet (see here for some excellent info) and it's surprising different from finding a young barn owl out of the nest. Following the advice, since it was healthy and well sheltered, she left it alone, and this evening when I got home from work, we went up to check. The owlet looked quite happy so I took the opportunity of a photo and then retreated. We'll check again tomorrow.

It was a very busy day at the cafe today and we were kept occupied serving food and hot drinks, cleaning trays and clearing tables. The two young people I was mentoring worked hard and cheerfully. I finished at 2 and did some food shopping - D was cooking the tea tonight so there was time for a couple of hours' gardening before we ate.

Now it's time for this week's episode of "Better call Saul"..
