A school badge

This school badge arrived this morning. It belonged to my school friend Susan who died 2 months ago. She told her sister to send it to me. Susan and I were only friends until we were 9 years old when her family moved away. But many, many years later we met up again via Friend Reunited.

The badges would have been worn on the front of our navy blue berets or at the top of our gymslips. The motto, which the school in Stamford Hill, North London still has, translates to "By striving, we conquer." It is now just a secondary school and has no primary age provision. I was a pupil from 5 until I was 18 and was
happy there.
