Netherlands smallest city Staverden (Gelderland)

Staverden is a village in the forest rich Veluwe ( province Gelderland).
It received city rights in 1298.
With approx. 40 inhabitants, it is today the smallest place with that traditional title in the Netherlands.
The castle of Staverden is owned by a foundation and used as a hotel, restaurant and rented out to the private sector.
It is certainly worth a visit.
