Male Bullfinch

I have lived in my present house since 1993 and until yesterday I had never seen a Bullfinch at my bird feeder. He was eating many, and spilling even more, of the sunflower seeds .... pigeons were thrilled!

Yesterday I just stood and watched but this morning he was back claiming one of the perches before my two visiting Goldfinches arrived and one was certainly not best pleased.

I had my camera beside the window and was pleasantly surprised how long the Bullfinch stayed. If the Goldfinches detect the slightest movement at the window they're off.
