Not every day

Home from home

In a corner of a village pub in Derbyshire, four Ukrainian women. The mother and daughter on the right live here, if I got it right.* The mother and daughter on the left drove all the way from Odessa. They don't know when they will return or whether it will still be part of Ukraine, but in the meantime they are safe and comfortable, and enjoying cider and pasties (like pirozhki, I explained when they weren't sure what they were being offered. Ah! they said).
