View of the ramparts of Coucy

A trip in the Oise department. Day 4: Coucy-le-Château (in the Aisne department actually). This medieval castle lies on the tip of a bluff and had the biggest donjon in Europe until the Germans blew it up in 1917. You can easily spent two hours walking through the ruins, the cellars, in the towers, and on the ramparts. The info boards are excellent: cross sections and reconstructions give you a good idea of this enormous building.
