Legends

Park Run this morning then this afternoon Chris & I were down at Huish Park for the last time this season for a fundraising match in memory of Adam Stansfield, a former Yeovil and Exeter City player who died tragically young from bowel cancer.

The Foundation set up in his name raises money for research into the illness and today a team of Yeovil Legends, made up from ex-players from the last 25 years or so played a team of South West Legends, many of them ex- Exeter players.

It was an entertaining 3-3 draw, if played at shall we say a comfortable pace - the years have been kinder to some players than others!

The blip shows perhaps Yeovil’s most legendary player Terry Skiverton scoring our second goal from the penalty spot. Skivo was our captain when we won promotion to League Two for the first time 20 years ago and has been at the club ever since as player, coach, assistant manager and manager until he left earlier this season to be coach at Charlton Athletic. Sadly he lost his job there recently when the manager was sacked.

We got back in time to enjoy the FA Cup Final on TV, so a bit footballed-out now!
