Duke of Burgundy

Butterfly transect day! And I found two of the very scarce Duke of Burgundy butterflies so it was well worth the walk. The caterpillars feed on primrose, but something is causing the population to drop catastrophically and we don’t really know why. So it was lovely to see them today, they are having a better spring so far.
