East of the Lighthouse

Whirl up, sea—
whirl your pointed pines,
splash your great pines
on our rocks,
hurl your green over us,
cover us with your pools of fir.

Oread, by H.D.

This stretch of shoreline is relatively inaccessible, so it's been years since I've been there. I think I would like to go back when the light it better - early in the morning perhaps.

Notable signs of the season observed recently include black-throated green warblers returning, goldthread blooming, and leaves coming out on the yellow birches.
