Hundreds of flowers

Banksia plagiocarpa grows in a friend's garden in East Ballina. Each Banksia flower spike consists of many small flowers, each looking like a match-stick.  This webpage of the Australian Plants Society says there may be hundreds of flowers in each spike. This spike contains, I strongly believe, 500 flowers. Because this is my 500th blip, and it would be appropriate.

I posted my first blip on New Years Day last year. Creating a blip each day is now a central and highly enjoyable part of my life. As is checking the latest journal entries of so many enthusiastic photographers and writers. Thank you all.
