Cepaea nemoralis II

Mrs Catspaw and I were amused to find this 'Grove', 'Lemon' or 'Brown-Lipped' Snail (Cepaea nemoralis) on the lid of the long-defunct coal bunker in our back garden this morning.

A comparison to the Cepea nemoralis we saw in our garden last year shows the range of colour variation in the species.

We were amused today by the slightly baffled look on the 'face' of this morning's example...
