Unwelcome Visitors

Every so often we get a flock of starlings attacking the bird seeds and a week's worth of seed disappears within half hour. Magpies can also be a bit of a pest but our visitors today were rooks, only two or three of them but the bird seed was disappearing mighty fast. We have also had the occasional jackdaw. Fortunately our normal run of visitors are all small birds :- goldfinches, sparrows, chaffinch, great tits, blue tits. The one larger bird that I am always pleased to see is a greater spotted woodpecker But this happens very rarely. As a well as being so colourful they also confine their eating the nuts and leave the bird seed alone.
