My Garden - Mid May

Monday - After substantial rainfall the water butt is replenished, the Magpie nest is obscured from view by green leaves and the Maple tree has found its deep red foliage.  The ground has at last had a thorough soaking and the earth in the veg beds looks a rich, healthy black. The unnourished garden soil has a sandy colour as our garden is bordered on one (left) side by 150 year old sand stone wall. There clings a Dublin Bay rose growing stronger every year and a passion flower has revived after a battering from the Winter storms.
